Develop Your Leadership Skills.
Tanesha Waid ’13
I’m not afraid to dream big and do the work to make those dreams come true. The confidence that I have in myself has definitely grown since I came to college.
I wasn’t the most outspoken person when I first started at Arcadia, but many of my professors have inspired me to speak up and really have my voice heard. It was a difficult transition, and sometimes I felt like they were being hard on me, but it was definitely worth it. I’m never afraid to voice my opinion now, even if it goes against the rest of the class. Now I feel like I’m taking a more active role in my education.
In June, I spent a month in Vietnam teaching English in an orphanage. What I learned at Arcadia gave me the confidence that I needed for this experience—which was completely eye–opening. I developed my skills as a leader, my sense of empathy, and my use of resources.
