“I made the world my classroom”
"I chose to participate in Arcadia's First Year Study Abroad Exerience (FYSAE) and go to Scotland my first semester because I wanted to challenge myself in college in a way that I had not experienced in high school," says Barry Hendler '10.
"When I returned to Glenside, I became really involved in student life. I was president of the Student Alumni Ambassadors, art editor of Gargoyle Art & Literary Magazine, and secretary and treasurer of Hillel. I also became a peer mentor for a First-Year Seminar and was an Arcadia Ambassador. Getting involved helped me to meet other students and to really establish myself on campus.
"FYSAE also opened up my eyes to different forms of diversity that are present in higher education, which has become a personal and professional interest of mine. It helped me decide to pursue graduate school, which is what I’m currently doing."
