Arcadia Stage Combat Boot Camp
One of Arcadia's Summer Theatre Institute Programs, this three-week camp invites students 15 and older to train in the art of theatrical combat. Whether you're crossing swords with Tybalt or going one-on-one with Jackie Chan, this workshop teaches you what you need to know. Learn the techniques that keep the actor safe long after the training is over. Classes are held in August, Mondays - Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch provided.
Course work includes:
Training in unarmed combat, Rapier, Dagger and Broadsword. (All weapons provided.)
Instruction from a certified Fight Director with the Society of American Fight Directors.
Basic certification with the Society of American Fight Directors is possible upon completion of training.
Arcadia's Summer Theatre Institute also offers Camp Shakespeare for students ages 10 to 18 to explore literature, theatre, history and the art of acting with professional artists and educators.

The dueling style that was the basis for the fights in the play are derived from the 18th century fencing master Dominico Angelo. His manual for dueling with the smallsword (the gentleman's weapon of the time) can be found at: www.haca.com.
