I chose Paris Preview because I had just taken Art History the previous semester, and I thought it would be really cool to see all the art I had been learning about in person.
It was wonderful to spend time in such a picturesque city, and as a photographer it was an amazing photographic experience. Learning about the Parisian way of life compared to my American lifestyle was really eye-opening. It made me want to change some things in my life back in the States. It was like jumping into a storybook for a week, and I made some amazing friends through the trip.
The friends that I made on Preview wanted to see everything there as much as I did. So we made sure to jam-pack our free time with plans and places we wanted to see in addition to what we explored as a part of the course. Even a little thing like walking down the cobblestone street to find a nice restaurant was sort of a “wow” moment because it was just so cool to find myself in a completely different atmosphere than I’m used to. When I returned from Preview, I saw different ways my life could go. I started seeing things differently. It opened up my mind to the fact that there is really so much else out there and so many different ways life could be.
