27-28 November 2009
Return to Global Leadership Page
A two-day symposium focusing on themes of global leadership and Manchester as a global city.
A unique opportunity to participate in a symposium organized in conjunction with the Manchester Leadership Program. This program has been designed to educate students about the importance of leadership that promotes social, economic and environmental sustainability; help them gain an insight into some of the key issues facing 21st-century societies; and teach them practical skills such as team working, project management and presentation skills.
Students attending the 'Becoming a Global Leader' symposium at the University of Manchester will participate in workshops aimed at identifying their own leadership styles; learn more about the importance of intercultural communication skills; and find out about the role of entrepreneurship for leaders. Following these sessions, students will then discover how the city of Manchester itself became a global leader in the fields of industry, science, technology, music and sport.
