Larsen Hall Gets Its New Name
Larsen Hall now bears its new name, as cut lettering was installed last week. Larsen Hall houses Arcadia’s College of Global Studies. The naming tribute, in honor of Dr. David C. Larsen, who recently retired after more than 20 years of leadership as Executive Director of Arcadia University's College of Global Studies, is part of At Home & In the World: The Campaign for Arcadia University.
Trustees, staff and members of The College of Global Studies and Arcadia community joined together to raise $250,000 for an endowed scholarship for study abroad students and an additional $250,000 to enable the University to name The College of Global Studies building Larsen Hall. “David deserves many accolades for creating a quality, affordable and nationally recognized study abroad program,” says President Jerry Greiner. “Our program enables Arcadia to rank first in the nation for percentage of undergraduate students studying abroad (2008 OpenDoors) and among the top international education programs rated by U.S.News & World Report.” More than 50,000 students benefited from study abroad programs during Larsen's leadership.
