PDE Changing Certifications
Pennsylvania has recently changed certification requirements for several programs. Please be aware that students must complete the current N-3, K-6, SPED K-12, and Dual certificates (K-6/SPED K-12) requirements by May 15, 2013. This means you must complete all coursework, student teaching and must pass all PAPA and PRAXIS examinations by the end of the Spring 2013 semester.

All completed certification applications must be submitted to the Graduate Studies Office (Mary Kate McNulty) by August 1, 2013 at the latest. After August 2013, Pennsylvania will NO LONGER be issuing certificates for the current N-3, K-6, SPED K-12, and Dual certificates (K-6/SPED K-12). Any incomplete coursework, PAPA and PRAXIS testing, student teaching or application materials will result in students being required to apply for the new certificate which will involve taking new coursework.
