Academic Coordinator (Delaware)
Joe Zaweski received his Bachelor's of General Studies from Louisiana State University. He started his career as a vascular technologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire where his research interests included ultrasound guidelines for carotid endarterectomy without angiography, ultrasound guided pseudoaneurysm compression, and anterior compartment syndrome. He attended MCP/Hahnemann's Physician Assistant Program, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. He received his Master's of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine with a research interest in bedside Emergency Ultrasound. Professor Zaweski practiced clinically full time for six years in Emergency Medicine before joining Arcadia University's faculty in 2007 as the Academic Coordinator for the Christiana Campus in Newark, Delaware. He continues to practice clinically in the Emergency Departments at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals where he is actively involved in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound instruction and precepting Physician Assistant students. Besides his academics interests, Professor Zaweski holds a seat on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Academy of Physician Assistants. He resides in Newark, Delaware where he is also actively involved in raising his three children.
