Master's Degrees in English and Humanities
Arcadia University offers several master’s programs for those wishing to study English.
Arcadia University’s low-residency Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing incorporates both a dynamic online environment and a study abroad experience. Students spend two years honing their skills, including one week spent abroad, and in the end each student prepares a manuscript he or she can feel comfortable submitting for publication. The program is flexible enough that a student can maintain a full-time career while still completing his or her degree.
Our Master of Arts in English program focuses study on literature and writing. Students choose from a diverse selection of literature classes, and also have the opportunity to participate in creative writing workshops. At the end of the program, each student can write either a literary or creative thesis.
The Master of Arts in Humanities degree is designed to provide students with an opportunity to enrich their lives through interdisciplinary studies in the humanities. The coursework encourages the development of a broad and varied awareness of several humanities disciplines and combines scholarly competency with intellectual challenges.
Arcadia also offers several master’s courses in education with concentrations in writing and English: the Master of Arts in Education with a Concentration in Written English, and the Master of Education with a Concentration in Secondary Education with English Certification.
