Disability Support Services for New Students
Every new student who will require accommodations must complete the Special Services Survey to identify with our office as a student with a disability. After the student has provided acceptable documentation and signed a consent form, we will prepare memos notifying faculty and appropriate staff of the accommodations. (N.B. Students do not have to submit new documentation every semester.) It is the student's responsibility to speak with their instructors about particular needs and to make the arrangements to receive them. If professors have questions, they may contact the Office of Academic Development for clarification.
Students who will require accommodations for placement inventories should contact the Director at least one week before the date they plan to attend Summer Orientation. By phone, call 215-572-4086 or send an e-mail to pizzi@arcadia.edu.
Other support services available to student with disabilities
The Disabilities Specialist or the Director of Academic Development can provide one-to-one instruction in time management, organizational skills, prioritizing, or other reading, learning and study strategies. Peer tutoring is free to all undergraduate students enrolled at the university. Student with disabilities may discuss their need for these services with our staff.
