What are GFS courses?
Global Field Study (GFS) courses are semester long courses taken on the Glenside campus that include an additional off-campus field study, typically lasting between 1-2 weeks. GFS courses are open to juniors and seniors, with some open to graduate students as well. These courses may be offered in fall or spring semester, as well as during summer session, with the field study travel location and timing chosen at the discretion of the faculty leader.
What will it cost?
The cost of each field study varies, depending on the location and length of the travel component. Most field study fees fall in the range of $2,000-$2,500, though some cost more and others slightly less.
How do I sign up?
Students interested in enrolling in a GFS course will complete an online application (look for the APPLY link at the top of each course description). Once your application is complete, you will receive email confirmation of your eligibility to be enrolled in the course.
