Beverly Rappaport Goldberg ’53
Award-Winning Fund-Raiser and Recognition Subcommittee Chair
There are few alumni who are as proud of their Beaver College education as Beverly Rappaport Goldberg '53.
"Beaver College helped me define my life in so many positive ways," she says. "In addition to providing me with a great education, it opened up new worlds to me. I traveled abroad, met my late husband, Nolan, and formed friendships that have lasted more than 50 years." Her Beaver College experience enabled her to confidently explore professional and career goals that today are contributing to the success of At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University.
For more than 40 years, Goldberg held leadership roles in the Development and Public Relations Department of nearby Abington Memorial Hospital, helping to raise nearly $200 million for the hospital's major campaigns and annual fund. She has earned many awards for her fund-raising expertise, including the Fund Raising Executive of the Year Award presented by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Abington Hospital's two highest honors, the Trustee Distinguished Service Award and the Frobese Award.
"Beverly Goldberg invited me to come back to Beaver," says Board Chair Lois Haber '71. "It's been one of the best things I ever did. I would encourage more alums to find a way to renew their ties to the University."
In addition to serving on the University's Board, Goldberg serves on the Campaign Steering Committee and was involved in helping Trustees meet the $2 million Haber Challenge.
Goldberg, chair of the Campaign's Recognition Sub-Committee, adds, "We want every contributor to the Campaign to know his or her gifts are valued and appreciated. We are working with a recognition consultant on some exciting designs for honoring donors, whether they make endowment gifts or help us to build the University Commons or new Academic Center. We also want to continue to celebrate the impact that donors have made in the Landman Library and Kuch Center campaigns.
