Arcadia University's Annual Fund ranks among the nation's best when alumni participation is measured. Among its most distinguished contributors are members of the President's Circle, and the University would like to offer added "thanks" to those individuals who join the President's Circle during fiscal year 2009 (July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009).

Unless otherwise designated by the donor, gifts to the Annual Fund support the University's general operations, enabling Arcadia to increase scholarships available to students, develop the new curriculum, purchase books for the library, and enhance facilities, including restoration of Grey Towers Castle.

Increasing Annual Fund support is among the top priorities of the At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University.

"For many alumni and friends of the University, Grey Towers Castle leaves a lasting and favorable impression of their relationship with Beaver College and Arcadia University. The Annual Fund has commissioned drawings of the Castle during the different seasons, which are now available as a set of attractive note cards. Starting this Fall, we will be sending President's Circle members our new Castle note cards as a way of saying ‘thank you' for helping our students with their generous contributions," explains Judy McNamara, Director of the Annual Fund.

Contributors qualify as President's Circle members when they give $1,000 or more (Tower Club), with giving categories and benefits honoring gifts of $2,500 (Turret Club), $5,000 (Coronet Club), $10,000 (Medallion Club), and $25,000 (Renaissance Club).

Other membership benefits include an invitation to the President's Circle Reception held each spring and regular updates on the University from President Jerry Greiner. Working with Arcadia University's Alumni Association, President's Circle members also will be invited to an Arts@Arcadia theatre event, The Wind in the Willows, a play for children and adults, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. The event includes a reception with cast members following the performance.

"We have heard from alumni and President's Circle members that Arcadia's student theatre performances remind them of New York City productions," says Georgene Pilling, Director of Alumni Relations. "In response to this enthusiasm, we are adding theatre productions to the Arcadian Adventure series, one of which is The Wind in the Willows, a classic about the adventures and misadventures of Mr. Toad, the practical Rat, the emotional Mole, and the stodgy Badger. We made special arrangements with the Theatre staff to invite children and adults on stage after the Dec. 6 morning performance to explore the set, ask about the special effects, and meet the characters."

The charge for alumni is $10 per adult, $5 per child, and free to President's Circle members. For tickets, contact the Alumni Office at 215-572-2160 or e-mail: alumni@arcadia.edu. See more Arcadian Adventures at www.arcadia.edu/alumnievents.
