David C. Larsen Endowed Scholarship for International Education
Trustees, staff and members of The College of Global Studies and Arcadia community have joined together to establish a scholarship fund for study abroad students in honor of Dr. David C. Larsen, who recently retired after more than 20 years of leadership as Executive Director of Arcadia University's College of Global Studies. “David deserves many accolades for creating a quality, affordable and nationally recognized study abroad program,” says President Jerry Greiner. “Our program enables Arcadia to rank second in the nation for percentage of undergraduate students studying abroad (2007 OpenDoors) and among the top international education programs rated by U.S.News & World Report.” More than 30,000 students benefited from study abroad programs during Larsen's leadership.
Plans for the tribute to Larsen include raising $250,000 for the endowed scholarship, with an additional $250,000 to enable the University to name The College of Global Studies building Larsen Hall. Thus far, more than $430,000 has been raised.
