Faculty and Staff Campaigns Set New Giving Records

Since July 1, 2007, faculty and staff have raised more than $480,000 toward At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University while also seeking to fund seven named endowments in honor of students, colleagues and friends of the University. This marks a new record for giving for the faculty and staff—the highest amount raised in any campaign to date.
“The Faculty and Staff Campaigns build on the success of our trustees, who already are inspiring our alumni as their Campaign begins this fall. It’s an exciting time for the University,” says Margaret Wright Steele ’80, Campaign Co-Chair.
The strong response from faculty and staff is a visible sign of the University’s commitment to its students. “We are all confronted with the challenges our students are facing relative to the cost of their education,” says Eva Korolishin, Advancement Services Manager and Staff Campaign Co-Chair. “We know that Arcadia makes a difference in the lives of its students, and we want to help provide that opportunity to future generations.”
The Staff Campaign is seeking to complete funding for an Endowed Staff Scholarship. “This scholarship will make a tremendous difference for deserving students, so we’re encouraging staff to think about how to get involved,” says Korolishin.
One accomplishment of the Faculty and Staff Campaigns has been the establishment of the Michael L. Berger Faculty Scholars and Artists Fund, which provides annual support for faculty research and scholarly and creative activities. The Campaigns also recently helped to fund the Jay Vogel Endowed Scholarship. At Vogel’s request, this scholarship helps veterans who were honorably discharged to afford an Arcadia education. Additionally, money has been raised to support the Annual Fund and the building of the University Commons.
