Alumni Tour Campus in Style Thanks to Jackson’s Golf Cart

Thanks to the generosity of Marie-Louise Vermeiren Jackson ’09H, Arcadia has a brand-new, six-person golf cart. Jackson, who came to the United States as a Fulbright exchange teacher, taught French at Arcadia in the 1960s and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1996. Over the years, she has given generously to the University, and her latest gift is sure to help visitors to fully enjoy Arcadia’s majestic campus.
“I knew Arcadia needed another golf cart, and I wanted to help out by donating one,” says Jackson. “Visitors and alumni can enjoy the comfort and ease of the cart as they tour Arcadia’s campus.” “We are so pleased to be able to offer alumni a convenient way to get around campus when they come for a visit, attend a meeting, or return during Reunion Weekend, Commencement and Alumni Homecoming,” says Georgene Pilling, Director of Alumni Relations. “Marie-Louise’s gift is much appreciated and will help us continue to make alumni feel welcomed.”
“Arcadia greatly needed a golf cart to allow us to safely—and in style—transport alumni and visitors around campus,” says Tom Macchi, Associate Vice President for Facilities and Capital Planning. “Marie-Louise’s gift will help us to better serve our visitors and alumni as we show off our beautiful campus.”
