Jo Bennett, Esq.
Campaign Steering Committee
“As a member of the Board, it is important for me to be a part of At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University. My participation allows me to demonstrate a measure of leadership and to show faculty, staff, students and the community at large that Arcadia is worthy of their financial support,” says Jo Bennett, who serves on the Campaign Steering Committee and also as a term trustee on the Board.
As a partner in the Philadelphia office of the law firm Stevens & Lee, P.C., Bennett specializes in labor and employment issues and advises employers on effective policies and procedures. She joined the firm in 2002 and was elected to the partnership in 2006.
As part of the Campaign Steering Committee, Bennett’s focus is on enhancing the college experience for Arcadia students. She is very proud to be a part of the University’s development.
“The University has transformed itself from a liberal arts college for women into a co-educational university that has embraced change, educates a diverse student population at home in Glenside, and provides Arcadia students, as well as students at other U.S. colleges and universities, the opportunity to study in diverse cultures and environments around the world through The College of Global Studies,” she says.
In addition to her involvement at Arcadia, Bennett is an active member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations and of the Society for Human Resource Management. She also is active in a variety of charitable causes and was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Leadership Class of 2003. Whenever possible, Bennett combines her fundraising efforts with her love of bicycling.
“For the future, I believe the University must be flexible in its approach, offer innovative programs, and provide students with opportunities for ‘experiences’ they always will remember.”
