Arcadia University Holds Community Wide Shredding, eWaste and Repurposing Event, Jan. 15 and 16

In Honor of the 26th Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Glenside, PA—Jan. 6, 2012—Arcadia University and the Office of Community Service is holding a “Shredding, eWaste and Repurposing Event” Jan. 15 and 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days in honor of the 26th Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The event is in the parking area of Murphy Hall on Arcadia’s campus. Drive up and volunteers will unload your car, and you drive away. It’s that easy. Arcadia is located at 450 S. Easton Road, Glenside, Pa. The event is free and open to the community. Enter the campus from the Church Road entrance and follow the signs.

Shredding

For the paper shredding event representatives from NEXCUT Shredding will have their processing truck on campus. For more information on NexCut visit www.nexcut.com.

Donations

For the recycling event, volunteers from local non-profit organizations will collect items including pillows, clothing, eye glasses, ink cartridges, blankets and linens, old towels and bathmats and household items. Also new and like-new items will be accepted such as toys, toiletries, school supplies, children/baby clothing and supplies, canned goods (including pet food) and pet supplies. Arcadia also has added a eWaste drive-in collecting anything with a plug (working and non-working). These items will be recycled or donated to Cradles to Crayons, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Lions Club, Aid for Friends, local schools, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Lions for Sight, eWaste and the SPCA.
