Arcadia University Announces Dr. Karen Scott as Director and Associate Professor of Forensic Science

Glenside, PA—July 10, 2012—Arcadia University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Steve O. Michael has announced the appointment of Dr. Karen Scott as the Director and Associate Professor of Forensic Science at Arcadia University.

With Dr. Scott's background from one of the most important programs in Europe, we are confident that we have the leadership to take the program to its next level of excellence. Dr. Scott comes with tremendous faculty experience and leadership, and I am excited about her energy and vision for the Forensic Science Program.”

Scott comes from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where as Director of the MSc (Medical Science) in Forensic Toxicology she was involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in forensic toxicology and other areas of forensic science. Her role as a forensic toxicologist encompasses review and interpretation of casework, preparation of statements and reports, and attendance in court as an expert witness. She also has a strong research background in forensic toxicology and is well published in this field. From 2000-07, Scott was a senior lecturer, program leader and consultant forensic toxicologist at Anglia Ruskin University, delivering a diverse range of teaching, research and program management.
