Arcadia University’s King of Prussia Campus Offers Professional Business Development Programs
School of Continuing Studies Accepting Enrollment for Fall 2012
Glenside, PA – Aug. 29, 2012 – Arcadia University’s School of Continuing Studies King of Prussia campus is accepting enrollments for two new offerings this fall designed for business professionals, Business Process Mapping (BPM) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS).
The Business Process Mapping workshop will be held on Sept. 25, 2012, from 9 a.m. to noon and the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) program will meet one evening a week at 6 p.m. for six weeks with one additional non-classroom week for independent project work beginning on Oct. 9, 2012.
Business Process Mapping is a widely employed analytical process that helps organizations evaluate business processes for efficiency and alignment with strategic objectives. The Arcadia program is designed to give the student the skills to identify areas within their organization that are in need of improvement, and to develop processes that create added value and improved business performance.
The Lean Six Sigma (LSS) program is a synergized managerial concept of Lean and Six Sigma that results in the elimination of the seven kinds of wastes (classified as Defects, Overproduction, Transportation, Waiting, Inventory, Motion and Over-Processing) and provision of goods and service at a rate of 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO).Arcadia’s Lean Six Sigma program will provide students with green belt certification, and is designed to increase the skills necessary for the student to improve processes to lower costs and improve productivity and quality for their company/organization. The discipline of Six Sigma and the synergized Lean Six Sigma are considered by many leading organizations as the preeminent doctrine aimed at promoting business and operational excellence in both efficiency and growth.
Both programs are offered at the King of Prussia Campus located in the Park View Tower Building 1150 First Avenue Suite 700, and will be taught by Dr. Mark Gershon, P.E., PMP, CSSMBB, a leading researcher, educator and practitioner in the areas of Lean Six Sigma, quality management and process improvement methodologies.
“Arcadia University is committed to adding programming at the KOP Campus aimed at serving the professional business community of the region,” says Dr. Erik Nelson, Dean of Arcadia University’s School of Continuing Studies.
