News Alert: Arcadia University Opens Fall Athletic Season with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Easton Field’s New Turf Aug. 31

Field Hockey Hosts Richard Stockton College Under the Knight Lights at 7 p.m.

Glenside, Pa.—Aug. 30, 2012—Arcadia University opens its Fall Athletic Season with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 31 at 6:45 p.m. to dedicate Easton’s new lighted turf field. At 7 p.m. Arcadia's Field Hockey Team hosts Richard Stockton College under the lights. It will be the first NCAA game to take place on the new turf surface.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community are invited to attend and celebrate the start of the new season on the revamped field. 

Can’t make it to the match? There will be two more chances to support Arcadia’s fall sports teams as they compete on Easton Field for the first time. Men’s Soccer hosts Swarthmore College on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. While Women’s Soccer hosts Neumann University on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies will precede these games, too.

About Arcadia Athletics: The Knights compete in the NCAA Division III and the Middle Atlantic Conferences. Arcadia has 17 intercollegiate varsity teams, including a full equestrian team (both Hunt Seat and Western) that competes in the International Horse Show Association. Arcadia is committed to the Division III philosophy of ensuring that athletics programs are an integral part of students’ educational experiences. On average, 60 student-athletes attain Dean’s List each semester, and Arcadia has one of the very few full-time strength and conditioning coaches in the division. (
