Arcadia Art Professor will Conduct Annual Live “Painting a Day” Demonstration

GLENSIDE, Pa. (Feb. 12, 2014)—On Friday, Feb. 28, Arcadia University’s Abbey Ryan will conduct a live painting demonstration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle (450 S. Easton Road, Glenside). The event , open to the public, also will be streamed online at .

A Philadelphia-based artist and assistant professor of studio art at Arcadia, Ryan has been conducting live painting demonstrations, which she titles “Painting a Day,” each year since 2011. The event also includes a painting auction; all proceeds are donated to the Arcadia University Jami Rodriquez Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates service, leadership, and engagement.

“It is important for alumni and the larger Arcadia community to remember Jami’s legacy, as well as each and every unique Arcadia alumni story,” said Ryan. “This painting demo is a way to bring Jami back to campus each year.”
