Strategic Planning for Arcadia's Future

Arcadia University is a comprehensive private institution in metropolitan Philadelphia, and a nationally-ranked leader in study abroad. Arcadia promises a distinctively global, integrative and personal learning experience that prepares students to contribute and prosper in a diverse and dynamic world.

In January 2013, the Arcadia’s Board of Trustees appointed a committee, comprised of the Provost, students as well as members of the Board, faculty, and staff, to develop a new five-year strategic plan for the University. The Stategic Planning Committee is dedicated to keeping with an approach that is responsive, inclusive and transparent in order to guide Arcadia's path to the future.

The Committee is grateful for the strong response to the initial online survey, participating in focus groups, and commenting on preliminary drafts of the plan. All of this information was carefully reviewed to create goals and objectives for each theme.

The Strategic Plan is based on five central themes:

1. Enhancing academic excellence
2. Strengthening a people-focused University community
3. Deepening the University's engagement with external communities
4. Improving the University's resources, financial processes, and infrastructure
5. Committing to institutional diversity and global engagement

The Arcadia Strategic Planning Committee thanks you for your careful review and helpful comments on the drafts of the Strategic Plan. The Committee will be meeting to consider revisions based on the feedback and will present a final draft of the plan to the Arcadia University Board of Trustees in early June 2013.
