Aid for Friends

The goal at Aid for Friends is to enable elderly shut-ins to live with dignity in their own homes by providing food, friendship, emergency financial aid and advocacy. Volunteers are needed in all areas.

Christ Home

Christ Home is looking for volunteers to help with scheduled activities with their residents. They are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and patient volunteers. Volunteers are needed Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9am-3pm. Volunteer basis to start- may lead to paid positions.

Coalition of Advocates for the Rights of the Infirmed Elderly

CARIE was developed to provide the elderly with friendly companionship[. Volunteers are needed to spend time with the elderly of local retirement homes by reading, playing games, talking, ect. Volunteers are asked to donate their time at least one to four times a month.

Interac

Intercommunity Action’s services is a lively senior center looking for lively volunteers.

Horizons

Horizons are looking for enthusiastic volunteers. Training will be provided to orient you with the staff and the facility. Volunteers are needed in many areas.

Phila. Geriatric Center

This large nursing home houses 500 senior citizens with varying degrees of illness. They have an extensive activities program which volunteers may assist with. Volunteers may also have one-on-one contact with the residents. A one-hour training session is required for personal interaction.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Montgomery County

RSVP provides opportunities for over 1300 adults ages 55 and over to do meaningful volunteer work with over 300 non-profit community agencies. He program will help refer students who are interested in working with older adults. This program is a home friend intergenerational program.

Unicare services a Senior Center, and are looking for enthusiastic volunteers.
