Campus Safety and Security
Campus safety and security is a priority at Arcadia University. In an effort to maintain a safe environment for the University community, we employ a trained public safety staff. Public Safety Officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day and operate an around-the-clock communications system. An escort service is available for on-campus facilities. Student desk receptionists monitor the residence hall lobby entrances during the evening hours.
Public Safety Communications & Alerts
Important communications for students, staff and faculty can range from weather emergencies to public safety alerts to emergency notifications. Text message capability (Emergency Notification System) is just one means of important campus communications. Students, faculty and staff also should be aware of important Public Safety Alerts that may be posted on campus and know where to find information about weather emergencies.
For situations that require awareness across campus but are not known as immediate threats to life safety, Arcadia utilizes communication via the Web, e-mail and signs posted on campus. Individuals must take responsibility to read these alerts when they communicated.
Emergency Notification System
Arcadia’s Emergency Notification System, SendWordNow, is used for campus emergency announcements, including weather-related closings or delays. Text, voicemail and Arcadia e-mail messages will be sent simultaneously to all recipients enrolled in the system. SendWordNow will also send notifications to Arcadia’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. This system is for students, staff, and faculty Arcadia University. Once a semester, you will be reminded automatically to review your contact information. You can update your information at any time from any computer or mobile device by going to http://contactinfo.arcadia.edu.
