On Dec. 1, UKNIGHT and Be Counted

By Christopher Sarachilli | November 30, 2015

On Tuesday, Dec. 1, Arcadia is asking all University community members to UKNIGHT and be counted.

The University’s inaugural UKNIGHT 1 Day of Giving Campaign, which coincides with the international GivingTuesday, asks all members of the campus community, from trustees, faculty, and staff to alumni, students, families, and friends, to participate.

The success of this 24-hour campaign is measured by the number of University community members around the world who are willing to show they believe in Arcadia University and donate. The goal is 500 supporters, which we can reach with the collective participation of Arcadians worldwide.

As an added incentive, an anonymous alumna has issued a challenge: As we reach different levels of support throughout the day, she will make donations to The Fund For Arcadia.

“What’s so wonderful about the UKNIGHT 1 Day campaign is that it’s a community effort—an opportunity for all of us, as a collective, to show support for our institution. Reaching 500 supporters in a single day will be an achievement and also a demonstration of Arcadia’s importance in our lives,” said Marnie Christian, assistant vice president for Development. “It is the collective power of our support that makes a difference.”

Donations received through UKNIGHT 1 Day of Giving support The Fund For Arcadia, which supports graduate and undergraduate programs, outstanding students and faculty, programs like Preview and First-Year Study Abroad Experience, and other opportunities as they arise. Across campus, Arcadia-red “tags” will serve as reminders of how much our Arcadia experience is made possible through collective support of the University.
