Arcadia University’s International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) program collected more than 30 boxes of books in November for Books Through Bars, an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that has been donating books to prisons since 1990.

Director of IPCR Dr. Amy Cox helped representatives from Books Through Bars sort more than 300 books on Dec. 2, preparing the donation for transfer.

“We were absolutely stunned at the overwhelming generosity of our community,” said Dr. Cox. “Books Through Bars was able to use much of what was collected, and will send the books to inmates and prison libraries across the country. We are so appreciative of everyone who donated.”
