In response to ceramic animals sculpted by third grade students at Wissahickon Charter School, Arcadia’s Studio Art Foundations class constructed habitats and homes for “Creature Comforts,” a collaborative art exhibition at Awbury Arboretum.
The project’s opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the arboretum’s Francis Cope House. Attendees can meet the artists at 1 p.m., attend the Delaware Natural History Museum’s “Animal Engineers” presentation at 3 p.m., and explore two dozen “habitats” through an interactive map and scavenger hunt.
The reception is free and open to the public. “Creature Comforts” will be on display April through June.
