Arcadia’s Actuarial Science students had the opportunity to meet prospective employers at the second annual Actuarial Career Interview Day on Sept. 21.

Held in collaboration with West Chester University, the event allows Actuarial Science majors to meet with firm representatives in the hopes of securing internship or full-time positions. During last year’s Career Interview Day, half of the Arcadia students interviewed received offers from participating companies.

“I got to learn more about what actuaries do outside of the classroom,” said Actuarial Science major Alyssa Grandmont ’20. “I asked employers about the projects they were working on or their companies’ missions. The experience me helped develop career plans and prepare for real-life situations.”

Nine companies attended this year’s event: Penn Mutual, Aon, Long Term Care Group, Lincoln Financial Group, Transamerica, Willis Towers Watson, JLT Reinsurance Brokers Limited, iPipeline, and CBIZ.

The event was coordinated with the University’s Office of Career Education, which helped students prepare to meet with prospective employers by hosting Actuarial Résumé Revival on Sept. 4 and Mock Interviews on Sept. 18.
