Belonging: One of Six Dimensions of Well-being
At Arcadia University, belonging is recognized as one of the six key dimensions of well-being, emphasizing the importance of fostering healthy, supportive relationships. This involves not only enjoying time with others but also developing deep friendships and intimate connections, while caring for others and allowing them to care for you in return. A sense of belonging is further enriched by actively contributing to and valuing the diverse perspective’s that make up the campus community. It is also about cultivating meaningful connections- whether with social groups, specific places, or through collective experiences-allowing individuals to feel a deep sense of purpose and attachment within the broader fabric of the university. Through these practices, belonging becomes a vital component of both personal and collective well-being at Arcadia.
