Arcadia University President Ajay Nair was honored by the Philadelphia 76ers during a pregame ceremony on Dec. 7 as part of the team’s sixth annual Indian American Heritage Night. 

With his wife, Paayal Nair, and their children, Krishna and Rani Nair, Dr. Nair was presented with a personalized 76ers jersey with the number 22 on the back, representing his position as the 22nd president of the University. He was also gifted a Sixers basketball inscribed with “Indian American Heritage Night.”

“As a Philly native, I grew up watching Dr. J, AI, and Sir Charles,” said Dr. Nair. “That made tonight even more special. I’m grateful to the Sixers for honoring me at center court for my leadership role at Arcadia University.”

The Sixers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 141 to 94 that evening at the Wells Fargo Center.
