Public Health students John Deep ’22DPT, MPH, Alethea Eccleston ’20MPH, and Olivia Kreider ’22M, MPH explored regional land conservation efforts through an interview with Kelly Herrenkohl, vice president of Communications and Engagement at the Natural Lands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the management, protection, and conservation of eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey’s native forests, fields, streams, and wetlands.

This interview was conducted as part of the YES! Solutions Pilot Project, a multimedia project competition hosted by the YES! For Teachers magazine. Lindsey McGann, administrative manager of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies and instructor for the “Community and Environmental Health” Public Health course, submitted for the class to participate in this program in 2019. Arcadia was one of three universities selected, with a total of nine projects selected for participation.

The interview delved into the care of Natural Lands’ 125,000 conservation lands and the impact of COVID-19.
