Actuarial Science Alumni Share Insights With Current Students

Arcadia University’s Math and Computer Science Department welcomed Actuarial Science alumni back to campus for a panel discussion with current students on Feb. 26. The panel featured Angel Rosenberger ’23, Jeremy Harman ’23, Faith Rineer ’22, Michael Soroka ’21, Jacob Walsh ’21, Xiao Wei ’19, and Quing Xiao ’17.
They spoke to students about a variety of topics, including their transition from being an Arcadia student to the full-time workforce, how they are handling their current workload, and any advice they had to offer to Actuarial Science majors. Following the discussion, the panel opened the floor for a question and answer session, providing current students with an opportunity to gain insight on what to expect following graduation.
Elijah Kerprich ’28 commented, “Everything that the former students said was really helpful!”
Since the creation of the Actuarial Science major in 2013, Arcadia’s program has developed into one of Pennsylvania’s best over the course of the past nine years, having been cited in numerous college ranking publications as one of the top choices in the Commonwealth. Nearly 100% of Arcadia students who graduate with a degree in Actuarial Science land positions in the field following graduation, while students achieved an 80% pass rate for the Probability and Financial Mathematics exam for 2024.
