COVID Update, March 3: Masking Requirement to be Lifted on Glenside Campus March 12
Arcadia University is pleased to announce that the masking requirement on the Glenside campus will be lifted on Saturday, March 12. The change in our masking status is due to the success of our mitigation measures, the high vaccination rates (over 90 percent) of University community members, updated guidance from the CDC, and the low infection rates on the Glenside campus and in the surrounding area.
March 12 begins Spring Break for many of our programs, giving us an opportunity to shift this masking requirement during a period when the density of the Glenside campus will be low. A decision about masking requirements on the Delaware campus will be made early next week.
During Spring Break, we ask that community members take measures to reduce their risk of exposure. We ask those who will be traveling to test for COVID prior to the resumption of classes on March 21; community members are encouraged to self-test for COVID at home before returning to campus on March 21. If you cannot test on your own or at home, you can test on campus between March 21 and March 23. Please schedule the appointment through the Aura app.
As a measure of personal responsibility and shared safety, those who would like to continue wearing masks are encouraged to do so. People should remain respectful of others and their comfort levels when in their company, and masking is welcomed by anyone in the community at any time.
Note: Masking will still be required for individuals who are close contacts of a positive case and those who are within the last five days of their isolation period, in accordance with existing CDC guidance.
Students with questions should contact COVIDCareTeam@arcadia.edu. Employees with questions should contact humanresources@arcadia.edu. Further information on the fall semester will be sent to University community members over the next few weeks.
March 12 marks two years since our community moved to an all-modes ready status. We want to thank all of our community members for collective safety efforts over these 24 months, and to thank you in advance for your continued dedication to facilitating a campus environment that prioritizes health and safety for all of our community members. We also thank all of our community members for their feedback on the COVID survey that was shared last week; your input is vital for our ongoing safety efforts.
