Steinbrucker Events Series Journeying Towards Freedom Presents The Color of Care: The Unfreedom of Race-based Healthcare Discrepancies. Please join us for a film screening of the documentary, The Color of Care followed by a panel discussion to explore the ways race-based discrimination in the healthcare industry deprives African Americans of essential freedoms.
Panel discussions will be led by Dr. Alex Otieno, Professor of Sociology and Dr. Comfort Olorunsaiye, Professor of Public Health.

Professor Otieno has taught at Arcadia since 2001. He earned a Master’s Degree from Temple University and is completing a PhD at the University of South Africa. His research interests are in public health, human rights, and human services. Professor Otieno teaches a broad range of courses, including Introductory Sociology, Ethnographic Film, and courses on HIV/AIDS and homelessness.
Comfort Olorunsaiye, PhD, Assistant Professor of Public Health at Arcadia University, earned her doctorate degree in Health Services Research from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also received an MPH in Maternal and Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B. Pharmacy degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
