Most Valuable Lesson Learned at Arcadia
I gained a global perspective at Arcadia by participating in Preview and the study abroad program. It taught me that growth occurs when you step outside of your comfort zone and experience different cultures. I had the chance to study in Scotland and Australia with Arcadia, and I recently spent time doing physical therapy work at a neuro clinic in Costa Rica this summer. I was a member of Arcadia’s men’s soccer team for four years, and I captained the team during my senior year. The dynamic and competitive environment taught me how to balance competition and cohesion within a team. Bringing out the best in others is a skill that I use in leading my nonprofit organization.
Best Advice Received
My parents gave me the best advice. They told me if you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life. We can be so focused on job security that we often lose sight of what we love to do. Life is too short to not be passionate about what you are doing. I’m fortunate that I can incorporate my passions for physical therapy, soccer, and service to others, and I hope to continue after I graduate with my doctorate degree.
Bringing out the best in others is a skill that I use in leading my nonprofit organization.
