Arcadia Marks Midpoint, Shares Progress of Adaptive Strategy
On Oct. 12, Arcadia leadership, faculty, and staff showcased the progress the University has made on its Adaptive Strategy initiatives at a campuswide expo. The Arcadia2025 Adaptive Strategy aims to “create an agile organization that doesn’t merely withstand external pressure – [it grows] from disruption. This will help “build the Arcadia University of the future by drawing on the intrinsic qualities that make us unique, while ensuring that every Arcadia student can reach their full potential.”
“We launched this early in February 2020 but then had to change the immediate focus when COVID hit,” said Bridget Miller, director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Arcadia University. “We now have 35 active initiatives.”
The strategy is based on four strategic themes:
- Academic Excellence Through Impact and Authenticity
- Student Success and Engagement
- Social Responsibility and Impact
- Campus, Culture, and Community
Some of the specific initiatives included creating a new and improved Arcadia.edu website, which launched earlier this month; infusing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and Combating Anti-Black Racism (CABR) initiatives across the University; and renovating multiple sites on campus to better serve the Arcadia community.
The expo included sets and displays outlining all the work being done to accomplish the goals of the Adaptive Strategy.
“Some people’s roles changed because of the paradigm shift in 2020, and retention has now become another issue that is at the forefront,” said Miller. “Combating Anti-Black Racism has really become our fifth pillar, and we’re very proud of the work that has been done and the work that will continue.”
