Storytellers Wanted: Apply to Blog for Arcadia
What We’re Looking For
Fresh, creative content that contributes to a well-rounded view of Arcadia’s academic environment, community, and global opportunities. We try to represent as many majors, interests, and backgrounds as possible.
New to Arcadia? Even better! First-year students provide a crucial perspective for Because Arcadia‘s primary audience: prospective students.
Traditional Blogging
You don’t have to be an English major to share your Arcadia experiences. Bloggers contribute four written posts (with photography), vlogs, or multimedia projects per semester and work with an editor to strengthen their content. Bloggers are also responsible for pitching post topics and promoting their work on social media.
Podcasting
Podcasters highlight a range of diverse, interesting Arcadia stories that speak to our community culture, demonstrate our passions and values, and impart advice or motivation to listeners. The student team will select four topics and relevant community members to interview per semester. Students and interviewees work together (and can tackle a limitless range of subjects!).
TikTok-ing
Yes, that’s a word (we think). But hey, that’s why we need you—to ensure our channel represents Arcadia in a fun, exciting way! Arcadia TikTokers will be responsible for pitching and creating content based on trends (details coming soon).
What’s in It for You
This is a paid, work-from-home position. Work-study eligibility is not required. In addition to being flexible and creative, blogging is a great résumé booster: Students gain practical skills and professional experience while working with Because Arcadia editors.
How to Apply
Send the following to retterj@arcadia.edu:
- Your major, class year, hometown, and preferred position (blogger, podcaster, or TikToker).
- A short cover letter (explaining why you want to join our team).
- Sample(s) of your work: You can submit writing (the more creative, the better); a vlog or podcast; or TikToks. Original photography samples are also encouraged.
