“Grace is an outstanding student leader who has made a difference at Arcadia University and understands the importance of staying connected to her alma mater through continued and active participation as an alumna,” says Georgene Pilling, Director of Alumni Relations.

Wainwright has done much to enhance the quality of student life at Arcadia University. She is one of the founding members of For the Women, a student organization dedicated to raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and local women’s shelters and planning campus activities that raise awareness of women’s issues. She was a member of the Campus Life staff and a Resident Assistant for first-year students. She understands the importance of giving back through community service projects such as Cradles to Crayons and America Reads, and she tutors at the North Hills After School Program. Her penchant for the theater arts drew her into Arcadia theater productions as a cast member and artistic director. She also studied abroad in London, where she immersed herself in European history and culture while she attended King’s College.

Wainwright’s leadership qualities were recognized at the Arcadia University Honors Convocation on March 27 when she received the Bette Landman Award that was given to her in recognition of her outstanding record as a student, commitment to community service, study abroad experience, and record of academic success.

Most recently, she was invited to be part of the President’s Task Force to review alumni relations at Arcadia University and to offer her perspective as a member of the senior class transitioning to alumni status.

“Grace’s understanding of the value and benefits of being an Arcadia University alumna, her commitment to sustaining an active alumni relations program, and her desire to give back are the very reasons that she has been selected to receive the Alumni Leadership Award,” said Pilling.
