Dr. Augusto Macalalag, assistant professor of STEM education at Arcadia University, conducted science, technology, engineering, and mathematics workshops for K-8 teachers and school administrators alongside Terese Boegly, principal at Colonial Elementary School and an Ed.D. candidate at Arcadia, and Penny Glackman, elementary science teacher at Merion Elementary School.

During the workshops, held on April 11 at Arcadia and May 13 at Lower Merion School District, participants performed investigations that highlighted the science and engineering design practices based on the A Framework for K-2 Science Education (National Research Council, 2012). Both sessions proved to be a success, with one educator calling the workshop a “highly engaging” presentation that could “enhance the teaching and learning in my classroom.”
