This fall, Arcadia University welcomed Yucheng Jin and Fan (Thomas) Yang from China to the M.B.A. with a Global Perspective program through a partnership with their hometown universities. The M.B.A. with a Global Perspective program offers approved students from international partner institutions the opportunity to earn their M.B.A. at Arcadia. Students earn an M.B.A. with a Global Perspective and a graduate certificate in one of the following areas: leadership, entrepreneurship, finance or global business diplomacy.

Although Jin once had interest in studying in the U.K., she quickly reconsidered when she discovered the notable exchange programs that exist between China and the U.S. Jin, who studied accounting at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, met Dr. Tony Muscia, Executive Director of the M.B.A. program, in her senior year of college during his visit to China, when she learned of her university’s partnership with Arcadia.

In addition to working toward her M.B.A., Jin is looking forward to exploring Philadelphia and traveling to different states during her time in the U.S. “I am anxious to get to know my colleagues in the M.B.A. program,” Jin says. “I think I am going to learn a lot from them.” Also eager to participate in the program’s two international business experiences, Jin was quick to name some of her favorites at Arcadia thus far: her apartment near campus, her kind roommate and—sometimes—the meals in the dining hall.

After completing her M.B.A. in 2012, Jin hopes to work toward a senior management position in the U.S., where she would acquire experience that is essential to have in order to thrive in China.

Yang studied Business Administration and Logistics Management at Beijing Wuzi University in Beijing, China and Logistics Management at the University of Cooperative Education in Baden-Wuertemburg, Germany. Like Jin, Yang also recognizes that post-graduate work experience in the U.S. will be vital to have before returning to China.

Yang, who was employed at Streck Transport in Freiburg, Germany and Thyssen Krupp Elevator in Beijing, China, was drawn to Arcadia’s emphasis on a global perspective. “I’m looking forward to experiencing a different lifestyle in the U.S. and acquiring more knowledge and work experience,” Yang says. “I am really enjoying the M.B.A. program so far.”
