SPACe Committee Updates Community on Changes Around Campus

By Dan DiPrinzio | September 13, 2023

Sept. 2023 — Tours of campus space by the Space Planning and Allocation Committee (SPACe) continued over the summer. The committee is pleased to announce the following actions were recommend to and approved by President Nair:

  1. The Honors Hive has been moved from Blankley Hall to Dilworth, in the space formerly housing the IT Help Desk.
  2. Advancement and Alumni Relations will join forces and house together in Blankley Hall.
  3. The Office of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Education has moved to 227 Commons.
  4. Stein Fireplace Lounge will get its own ribbon cutting soon as well as a “facelift” as the new Commuter Lounge, as part of our continuing efforts to help our commuter students to feel more connected and facilitate belonging. The former commuter lounge will now be a dedicated space for student government, organization, clubs and organizations to meet.

These moves help the University live several of its values. Most importantly, they continue efforts to center students at Arcadia, with student programs moving to more prominent and accessible spaces.

These moves, and several other recent actions, create the opportunity for additional space allocations that will better serve the University community. Keep an eye out for future announcements.
