Class of 2015 and New Transfer Students Arrive!
New students are unpacking and getting settled into life in their new home away from home, Arcadia University. New Student Orientation for the Class of 2015 and new transfer students began on Friday, Aug. 26.
William Goebig, a Sport Psychology major who will be living in Heinz, commented that the move-in went very smoothly. His mother echoed the same words. Goebig is looking forward to Spring Preview and hopes to eventually play soccer for Arcadia.
In Kistler Hall Katrina Nayera, a Theater Arts and English major from Hackettstown, N.J., was pleased with how organized the move-in day was. Asked why she chose Arcadia, Nayera says, “I came to Arcadia for the Theater program and English concentration.” She plans to study abroad in London.
September Stoddard, a resident of Hampton, N.J., and a Forensic Science major came to Arcadia because of its stellar Forensic Science program. Her mother and grandmother were both helping their only child and grandchild move her in with some trepidation. Stoddard’s grandmother boasted with pride that she is the first to go to college in their family.
At the other wing of Kistler Hall, Russell Heasley II, a Business Administration major from Phoenixville, Pa., and his dad were both pleased with how smoothly the move-in went. Heasley’s roommate, Will Lariccia, from Vernona, N.J., a Computer Science major, and his parents also commented on Arcadia’s attention to detail. Heasley will be playing on Arcadia’s Golf team in the spring.
Laura Siewert, a Biology major from Lansdale, will be going to London for her fall semester as part of the First Year Study Abroad Experience. Siewert has traveled abroad to Germany, and is looking forward to her semester in London. Viola Sawyer, a Criminal Justice major from Long Island, N.Y., will be studying abroad in London this semester through FYSAE. Sawyer was very pleased with the financial aid package she received and said it was better than any state school.
James Daly from Scranton, Pa., an Education major, Brandon Crossland who is in the Honors Program and Biology major and Jonathan Patterson, a Graphic Design major from Bridgewater, N.J., are roommates in Grey Towers Castle this semester. When asked why he wanted to live in the Castle, Crossland simply says, “It’s the Castle.” Patterson also was pleased with his financial aid package.
