Arcadia to Host 30th Annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner

By Dan DiPrinzio | November 7, 2023

Arcadia University will host the 30th annual Empty Bowl benefit dinner – a staple of the Thanksgiving holiday season – at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 in the Commons Great Room.

Tickets are $12 for students and $15 for general admission and can be purchased here. All ticket sales will benefit Manna and the Arcadia Resource Pantry. If you are planning to attend, you are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the event that will be donated to people in need.

Participants will get to choose from an array of unique ceramic bowls handcrafted by local artists, school students, and members of the Arcadia community and enjoy a variety of soups and desserts from the Metz Culinary team.

In previous years, participants would choose a bowl in Grey Towers Castle and then eat there or in the Great Room. This year, the event will be held entirely in the Great Room.

Since its start in 1993, Empty Bowl has raised approximately $170,000 for those in need. Last year, the first year full back after the COVID-19 pandemic, the event raised $3,137.
