Members of Arcadia’s Biology Club enjoyed a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo on May 1. Students observed a variety of morphology and behaviors that relate to the study of Biology. Some favorite animals were the camels, cheetahs, naked mole rats, poison dart frogs, peacocks, cobras, and otters.

America’s first zoo, the Philadelphia Zoo property includes the house of William Penn’s grandson and is home to more than 1,300 animals. It contains a wide range of animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. The zoo is located about 20 to 30 minutes from Arcadia and is a good place to spend an afternoon.

The Biology Club hosts guest speakers and offers field trips throughout the academic year. The club also cares for the beehive on campus. To get involved with the Biology Club, contact Kyrillos Awad at kawad@arcadia.edu.
