Alumni Honored with Awards During Reunion 2012
While Reunion is a time to reminisce and remember, those celebrating also reaffirm their affinity for their alma mater through class gifts.
This year, reunion classes made a total combined five-year gift of over $1.7 million. As part of this gift, the 50th reunion class makes a special donation. The Class of 1962, through gifts and bequests large and small, donated $177,202 on behalf of the occasion.
Honored for the highest five-year participation rate—78.89 percent—the Class of 1957 was awarded the Ethlyn Selner Mack Bowl, as well as the Bette E. Landman Plate, with the highest total five-year gift of $621,754.
The Class of 1962 received the Cornell Cup in recognition of the highest attendance at Reunion, with 36 registered classmates on campus to celebrate their 50th Reunion.
Reunion classes were also honored for recently naming facilities on campus. The Commons South Terrace was named in honor of the Class of 1957 to celebrate their reconnection as classmates and as a way to touch the future of Arcadia’s students. The Class of 1962 dedicated the Easton Hall First Floor Student Lounge area, as well as a named endowed scholarship. Plaques mark both locations on campus to mark the generous contributions of the classes.
Class officers were honored for their commitment to engaging classmates throughout the year. Those honored at this year’s Reunion celebration include Lucille LaMorgess Downs ’52, Nancy Parke ’52, Janet Copeland Zinman ’62, Gail Agerton ’67 and Corinne Royer Greskiewicz ’02.
Three alumni were chosen to receive the Mary Louise Armstrong Wolf Award, given for outstanding dedication and willingness to serve the Arcadia community. Lillian Howarth Pagano ’52, Elisabeth Mackerell Ruch ’67 and Meghan Maker ’07 were selected as this year’s recipients.
