Nydick Promoted to Associate Director of Athletics & Recreation
Rob Nydick has been promoted to Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation, effective June 1, as announced by Retiring Arcadia University Director of Athletics & Recreation Shirley Liddle. Nydick enters his fourth season as Head Coach of Men’s Soccer and will continue in his coaching capacity in addition to his new administrative role.
“Rob has shown his leadership, teamwork and administrative skills over the past season at Arcadia and is very ready to take on additional roles for the staff and programs,” says Liddle. “Rob will be a great Associate AD!”
In his first season on the sidelines for the Men’s Soccer program in 2009, Nydick led the Knights back to post-season play, playing in the Commonwealth Championship Finals, a feat that allowed him to be recognized as the league’s Coach of the Year. During the 2010 campaign, the team reached the post-season for the second straight season. In total, he has guided the program to 33 wins in three seasons while his student-athletes have earned six Commonwealth First Team nods, three Second Team selections and 27 All Academic honors for the Middle Atlantic Conference. His student-athletes have also been named to the Co-SIDA/ESPN Academic All District Team, NSCAA Mid-Atlantic 3rd Team and Philadelphia Inquirer All Academic Team. The program been recognized for academic excellence by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), earning the Team Academic Award the past three seasons.
During his time at Arcadia, Nydick has provided administrative support to the department, served on the Scarlet, Grey and Blue Ribbon Search Committee during Arcadia’s recent search for an athletics director, and has reinvigorated the Men’s Soccer alumni, hosting the first alumni game for the program on April 21. Nydick has earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University.
