Men’s and Women’s Soccer Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award
Arcadia University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Awards. The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the pitch. This is the third straight year that both teams earned the award. The men’s team had a team GPA of 3.26, while the women’s team GPA was 3.54. Find out what the coaches have to say about the honor.
Field Hockey Named NCAA Division III Most Improved Team
The Arcadia University field hockey team was named the most improved NCAA Division III program in the country by the NCAA. The Knights were 6-13 in 2011 and improved to 15-6 in 2012, advancing to the semifinals in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. What contributed to their success?
Men’s Basketball Falls in Conference Opener
The men’s basketball team (2-2, 0-1 MCOM) dropped the conference opener to the Albright College Lions (5-0, 1-0 MCOM), 83-72. The Knights trailed by three midway through the second half, but a 13-0 run by Albright secured the win for the visitors. Malcolm Still led the Knights with 16 points off the bench. Women’s Basketball Suffers First Setback of the Season
The women’s basketball team (4-1, 0-1 MCOM) suffered its first defeat of the season, 77-64, to the Albright College Lions (3-1, 1-0 MCOM). Arcadia had a 44-40 lead midway through the second half, but a 16-4 run followed by a 13-3 run put the Knights in a 16-point hole that they could not get out of. Women’s Swimming Tops Cabrini, Falls to Bryn Mawr
The Arcadia University women’s swimming team picked up their first win of the season tonight as they defeated Cabrini, 101-77. The Knights also swam against Bryn Mawr, but fell 127-56. Here’s a breakdown of the meet.
