PA Students Donate 800-Plus Meals for Hunger Awareness Month
Arcadia University’s Physician Assistant program organized a food drive for Hunger Awareness Month. Beginning Oct. 18 and concluding with the Empty Bowl Fundraiser on Nov. 12, students collected more than 600 cans of food and 200 assorted pastas, grains and instant meals, which were donated to Philabundance, a non-profit organization responsible for feeding more than 65,000 people per week in the Delaware Valley.
“The food drive could not have come at a better time, as many local families struggled with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy,” says Brianna Clark, Secretary and Director of Outreach of the Student Association of American Academy of Physician Assistants. “We would like to thank Cindy Rubino and all of the student volunteers in Arcadia’s Service Office for inviting us to be a part of the Empty Bowl Fundraiser this year, as well as all of the students and faculty who donated to this great cause.”
