The Arcadia University men’s and women’s soccer teams were both named recipients of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year, it was announced by the NSCAA. The Knights were among 190 NCAA Division I, II and III programs to have both programs receive the award.

The men’s soccer program, which has now earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for five consecutive years, posted a team grade point average of 3.30 this past academic year, placing it atop the list of Commonwealth Conference programs to receive the award, along with Widener. The other three Commonwealth men’s soccer programs honored were Messiah (3.24), Lebanon Valley (3.05), and Lycoming (3.13).

The women’s soccer program earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the fifth consecutive year and for the sixth time overall after posting a 3.31 team grade point average last year, placing the Knights third among Commonwealth Conference schools. Also receiving the women’s team award were Alvernia (3.23), Lycoming (3.12), Stevenson (3.41), and Widener (3.42).

A total of 872 soccer teams (274 men, 598 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.
